2016 Goal Setting

Goal setting is the key to your success in any endeavour.  Afterall, if you don’t know where you’re going, how can you plan to get there?

Setting goals is pretty easy but formulating them so you track your progress and reward yourself when you achieve a milestone is a bit more complex.  At NASA, S.M.A.R.T. goals were taught and practiced to all new instructors.  SMART goals  are most commonly defined as Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound.  So instead of saying, “I need to lose weight,”  The SMART goal is: “I am going to lose 5.5 pounds by  March 1, 2016.”  Simple, right?

January 1, 2016 is as good a time as any to kick off your goal setting for the year.  If not then, then right now, whatever day this may be that you find this post!
